You have grown tremendously over the course of the summer. You sleep on your own in your own bed. You are agreeable and well behaved. You genuinely feel bad when you make a 'sad choice' to the degree that we had to remind you that everyone makes 'sad choices' sometimes.
You love clothes and pick out your outfit for the next day every morning. Here you picked out your outfit for the Fourth of July parade.
Bastille Days with your best bud Harper. We had so much fun with her this summer.
You stayed up late and watched the Southshore Frolic fireworks at the Studinski's house. It was a fun adult-kid party that gave us a glimpse of what future summers will be like when bed time can deviate from 7-8 pm more easily!
Brewer's game tailgate
You had a blast watching the game, sliding down the slide like Bernie, watching the racing sausages, and singing, "Take me out to the ballgame." You were sleepy though. Napping is part of your routine still. We waited in line for you to run the bases after the game, but it went into 14 innings. We didn't wait that long!
Dad told you that if you could go to bed on your own, rather than have Mom lay down with you, he'd get you a two wheeled bike. Wow, that worked!!
We live so much closer to the dog park. We had fun taking Marley this summer.
Ice cream has become your favorite summer treat. We biked to Murph's Custard Shop here. You also request to go to the zoo often. While I do think you like the animals some, it's mostly to get ice cream I've decided.
You participated in the Milwaukee County reading program this summer and earned a lot of prizes including a free kids' meal at PF Changs and a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. You felt so proud eating out. You carried your coupon in your purse and proudly presented it to the waitress as soon as we were seated. At PF Changs, I explained what chop sticks were and how people from other countries use them. You were fascinated and looked around the restaurant asking if each person using them was from another country.
You love your dolls. Here Alice and Emma are celebrating their 3rd birthday.
We spent many days at the zoo.
Riding the Merry-Go-Round at zoo ala carte.
First camel ride
You were a big help with your brother and were always willing to try to help him steer clear of trouble...even if it involved a headlock.
Books and music. Two of your favorite things. You sing me songs at bedtime from your princess piano books. If you don't know the words, you make them up.
Of course our summer involved a lot of swimming.
You helped influence some of your friends to be more adventurous in the water too.
And trips to the park!
You roasted your first marshmallow
And you ate your first s'more!
We celebrated Nolan's 1st birthday
and Sarah's 5th birthday.
I love how your imagination works and how creative you are. You loved using this piece of your baby's playmate to pretend. Here it is a jump rope. Sometimes it's a firehouse.
You played with James. He loves you so much. He wants to do whatever you are doing and be right by you. You like to play with him too (most of the time).
Your first attempt at coping your name. Not too bad!!
Bouncing on the trampoline with your cousins! We were lucky to have them visit a few times this summer!
You got a pet fish, Gosh. I've never met a more dedicated fish owner than you Madelyn. You pray every night for him to, 'Last through the night.' You hug his bowl. You call him a screwball. You talk about how cute he is and you threw him a birthday party. You actually asked if we could get rid of Marley and just have Gosh.
Thankfully, Marley still loves you!
And sometimes all this playing, made you a little bit sleepy.
