22 Months

Dear Madelyn,

You are 22 months old. Wow! That is all I can say.

Let me tell you about you:
* You love to read. Jungle Tails, Farm Tails, and Hush Little Baby are your current favorites.
* You started stalling at bed time and want to read more books, pray for more people, give more hugs and kisses. You can stay up until 7:30 pm, but we still try to have you in bed by 7pm as you are a sleepy girl. You usually wake up at 6:30 am but are content in your crib for quite awhile after.
* You like to sleep with your Jack O Lantern book now too. At the end the vampire does a spooky laugh. Sometimes I'll have the monitor on in our room and hear it. What a way to wake up!
* You know your abcs, can count to 10, know most of your basic colors and shapes
* You would eat mac n cheese and Yokids for every meal if we'd let you. Breakfast included.
* You love your zoo animals, kitchen set, and building forts.
* You play with play dough by opening every container (we have 36) and dumping it out
* You are obsessed with mommy right now. I think daddy is getting a little frustrated. Your favorite words right now are, "Mommy too. Mommy too." Maybe you know your brother is coming soon??
* You had a bad cold last week and ran a fever of 103. You've never had a fever like this before and you had trouble sleeping through the night. It was the first time Mommy was ever up with you in the night due to illness.
* You don't like to walk around the block anymore. You want to be carried or ride in the stroller.
* You take great naps! 2-3 hours
* You love playing in your dresser with your cloths and have gotten very opinionated about what you want to wear. I bribed you today to wear a dress you got for Christmas that if you didn't wear soon, you'd grow out of it with out ever wearing it. Two marshmallows did the trick!
* You will sit on the potty chair with your clothes on, but you become very upset if we talk about using the potty for real.
* You still love to swim and will jump from the side of the pool and go under the water.
* You share toys and play well with other kids. You haven't learned any naughty habits yet and seem to look at other kids like they're crazy if they take toys or hit.
* You haven't figured out how to use pronouns yet so you often say things like, "Mommy smooching you." Or "Mommy hold you." When what you really mean is, 'me'.
* You bring me so much love and joy. I never knew a heart could love this way Madelyn.
* You are perfect being you!

xoxo,
Mommy
