You’ve been 3 for the last month! You remind me almost daily! You are so excited to be a big girl, and that you are, my love! Let me tell you about your perfect self!
- You love to color, cut, and paint.
- Yellow has consistently been your favorite color.
- You have been potty trained for since 2.5 years old, but you still insist on using your little potty in the living room and watching a “show” while you go. You pee right away and often say you are trying to poop still just so you can get more TV time!
- Speaking of which, you are a little obsessed with YouTube. You will cry if I try to merely suggest a normal show with a plot. You love the nursery rhymes and songs though, too, so perhaps you are getting something a little educational out of it! You can sing a lot of songs!!
- You were and are VERY into Halloween and all things spooky. Our friends got a skeleton head when in the Dells and said it was for you because you love skeletons. You carried it around proudly for days. Papa would take you to the Halloween store for fun. You said you wanted to be something scary for Halloween and that’s how we landed on day of the dead costumes.
- You love dinosaurs, Paw Patrol, playing doctor with your stuffed animals, and doing blocks.
- You will play house and dolls- especially when with other kids. Maeve and you have a lot of fun doing this together.
- You have trouble understanding why you don’t get to go to sleepovers. It’s hard watching your bro and sis get to do it all first.
- You are good eater for the most part! You claim to LOVE bananas- and did for sometime - now I think it’s just more of your self identity. You are my only child who does LOVE mashed potatoes! You have learned from your siblings to protest dinner and say something is “gross”.
- Outside you love chalk, your stomp rocket, jumping in the leaves and playing in the snow. You are so proud you use the big kid swing at the park and hop between the mushrooms at Kayla’s playground.
- You sleep with a million lovies- elephants - in your brother’s bed, with him.
- Speaking of bedtime- this is our most challenging part of the day. You have bizarre requests too - for me to shine my phone flashlight on your face or to rub you with your elephants arm. One night I made up a story about a bunny eating the farmers vegetables and made shadows on the wall to tell the story. I don’t think I’ll forget it ever because you’ve made me tell that story every night since, not once, but twice!
- You are so very smart and have an incredible memory, vocabulary, and know many pre-academic skills. Many people comment how articulate you are. You know your abc’s and shapes, can count to 11, can rhyme, and color within the lines, mostly. You know all your colors except you mistake red and green - which is consistent with color blindness - so I guess time will tell if that is the reason for your errors.
- Once you are comfortable, you are outgoing and will talk with adults and order them around!
- You love the water and have no fear when swimming. When visiting the McCulloch’s at their lake house you would fling yourself over the side of the raft into the lake! It was scary for me watching! You were brave tubing, much braver than me!
- You give me the best hugs and tell me you love me multiple times a day in your sweet sweet voice.
- You talk a lot about the things you do with your whole family and how you just love it!
- You copy your brother and sister. You have learned Pom routines and naughty words.
- You made up an alter ego for yourself - Cala. You tell everyone to call you this! Madelyn recently started calling you Cala Mermaid Boo Boo. You are down with Cala Mermaid, not the boo boo. I still call you my Care Bear, and I smile when I overhear family friend’s kids affectionately calling you Care Bear as well.
- You complain about being dropped off at the gym daycare but never want to leave when it’s time to go!
- You are my partner and buddy on shopping trips and cheering on your siblings from the sidelines!
- You make my heart happy and it holds more love than I ever knew was possible. You are sassy, but you are my easy one - at least right now! I am forever greatful that you are mine Caroline! 
Happy 3rd Birthday my forever baby girl! I love you to the moon and back and all around the world! I love watching you grow! You are destined for great things!
