Today was ordinary in almost every way. I played with Caroline. We walked the dog. I did laundry. A lot of laundry. Madelyn had swim practice.
However, amongst these most ordinary things, the most extraordinary moments occur. Madelyn and Caroline were playing together in my room as I put away laundry. They were laughing and laying on the floor together. Madelyn whispered to Caroline ever so sweetly, "You know, you're going to be my best friend." Be still my heart. Never were sweeter words uttered. I hope you two are always each other's best friend. I hope you always know how much love sisters, and siblings, can hold for each other.
